About Our Club<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

New Century Lions Club is part of the global family of Lions Clubs International. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are a District-based club, which means we don\u2019t have a home base like most other Lions clubs, and our members are based across the District (and some outside of it!). Our members are from all walks of life and most are in their 40\u2019s or 50\u2019s with growing families and working lives outside of Lions.
We still have regular meetings and events throughout the year, and in most other respects we work the same way as any other Lions club. Partners are also welcome to attend our events.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Our service<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lions are a global force for good.
Lions Clubs International is the largest service club organisation in the world, with more than 1.4 million members in 48,000 clubs serving 200 countries and geographic areas worldwide. Since our founding in 1917, we have been proving that where there\u2019s a need, there\u2019s a Lion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since our club started in 2000, we have supported many charities and service activities. We organise our events collaboratively as a club, rather than working in committees.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Kindness matters to Lions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our motto is \u201cWe Serve\u201d and Lions put it into action every day. We\u2019re caring men and women who come together to be the difference in our communities. We believe we can do so much more together than we can alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our club members take an active part in helping people across the country and are always looking our for a way to help. Recent activities have included syringe driver bags and new born traffic light hats to local hospitals, face masks for funeral homes in the height of the pandemic, to creating a sensory garden for a supported living care home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lions serve global causes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Lions around the world are rallying around the five global causes of vision, hunger, the environment, childhood cancer and our new global focus, diabetes. We have set a goal of serving 200 million people a year through these causes and other humanitarian initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our club plays an active role in Lions global causes across the UK. We are working with farmers across the district to help fight hunger and environmental waste by gleaning excess fruit and veg for good causes. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
